SOUTH FEATHERSTON
SOLDIERS AND SAILORS
ENTERTAINED AT SOCIAL. (“Times-Age” Special.) There was a very large attendance at the South Featherston Hall on Monday night when the Home and School A ssociation held a "social at which the guests were Abie-Seaman Clarence Ashworth and Claude Brash of the Achilles, and Signaller D. Benton and Rifleman R. Blain. Mr Arch. Clark welcomed the men and presented each with a small token from the people of the district. Messrs Ashworth. Benton and Blain suitably replied. Mr Ashworth apologised for Mr Brash who was unable to be present. The euchre prizes were won by Mrs Ashworth. Mrs Wilson and Mr L. G. Rasmussen. The Monte Carlo dances were won by Mr C. Ashworth and Miss White, and Miss Phyllis Burt and Miss Sorensen. Mr Lon Daysh supplied the music, and a very pleasant gathering was brought to a close with the singing of “Auld Lang Syne” and "God Save the King." Personal. Mr P. Gain was the victim of an accident recently through being kicked by a horse on the foot. He had a small bone in his foot broken.
