OBITUARY
MR W. J. WINSLADE. The death occurred suddenly at Rotorua on Sunday of Mr William James Winslade, a former resident of Masterton, at the age of 66 years. The late Mr Winslade, who left Masterton 17 years ago to take up his residence at Rotorua, had lived for many years in Masterton. He was employed for some years by the Masterton Implement Co. and Thomas Wagg and Co. He was a prominent rifle shot, having been a member of the Mas-terton-Opaki Club and of the New Zealand Bisley team in 1902. He was also interested in miniature rifle shooting and for many years was secretary of the Masterton Club. Mr Winslade was a member of Masterton Masonic Lodge No. 19. in which body he held the office of senior deacon. In 1903 he married a daughter of Mr and Mrs Edward Taylor, old identities of Masterton. He is survived by a widow, three daughters—Mesdames J. Tregear (Rotorua) and E. Martin (Christchurch) and Miss Laura Winslade (Rotorua)—and three sons. Messrs Harold and Eric Winslade (Rotorua) and Maurice Winslade (Masterton).
The funeral will take place at Rotorua tomorrow.
