FASHION CAVALCADE
SECOND PRESENTATION LAST NIGHT. OPERA HOUSE PACKED TO DOORS. Every seat in the Opera House was occupied last night for the second presentation of the Cavalcade of Fashion, and once again many people were unable to gain admittance. In consequence of the work entailed in dealing with the large numbers desiring admission and finding seats for those who had. the performance did not start until 8.15. Applause greeted the entry and exit of every one of the many displays of old and modern dresses and other examples from the world of fashion, the incidental facts relating to each exhibit given by the commentator, Mrs. T. Jordan, adding greatly to the interest of the cavalcade. As on the previous occasion, the presentation was varied with a selection of vocal items appropriate to the occasion. The Mayor, Mr T. Jordan, at the conclusion of the cavalcade, expressed his appreciation of the magnificent spectacle presented that evening and on the previous Monday and went on to refer with satisfatcion to the success of Masterton’s Centennial celebrations. They had done something to show that they appreciated what had been done by the people who came before them. Mr. Jordan expressed his thanks to the many helpers who had assisted with the Cavalcade of Fashion, mentioning particularly Mesdames Moser,' Skeet and Miller Hope, those who had lent dresses and those who had worn them, and to the committee.
