MOUNTED RIFLES
PARADE HELD AT TAUERU.
Nos. 1 and 2 troops of C Squadron,' Wairarapa and East Coast Mounted Rifles, held a mounted parade al the Taueru on Sunday last. There were 45 men on parade, many having travelled long distances, and the day was spent in carrying out elementary troop drill. For most of the men this was their first mounted parade. The troops were inspected by the Brigade Commander, Colonel Matinsell, 0.8. E., E.D.. who commented favourably on the men's turn-out and the suitable type of horse on parade. He also referred to the necessity for the men of the squadron to attend the annual camp of the regiment to be held at Waipukurau from April 3 to 12. At the conclusion of the parade the men were entertained at afternoon tea by Mr and Mrs Colin Deans, on whose property the parade was held.
