PERSONAL

The Very Rev George H. McNeur and Mrs McNeur, of Kong Chuen. China, are the guests of Mrs David McNeur. Lansdowne. Mr and Mrs McNeur, who have worked for 39 years in China have retired and intend spending a year in New Zealand.

At the monthly meeting of lhe Masterton A. and P. Association last night a motion of condolence was passed with the relatives of (he late Messrs H. S. Ryder and D. 11. Speedy, both life members, and to Mr C. W. Dickason in the loss of his son and Mr H. L. Esau in the loss of his father. Members stood in silence as a mark of respect.

Opportunity was taken at the monthly meeting of the Masterton. A. and P. Association last, night by the president. Mr. R. E. Gordon Lee. to make a presentation of a handsome travelling rug. on behalf of committee members to mark the twenty-first show with which the secretary. Mr. R. H. Williams, had been associated. Mr. Lee referred to the splendid work Mr. Williams had been doing, and expressed the wish that he would carry out his arduous tasks at many more shows. Messrs. J. M. Janies, w' F. McLaren. P. R. Welch and 1,. Meredith also spoke on the fine job of work Mr Williams was doing. The assistant-secretary. Mr. F. Dunn, who has been assistant-secretary for 26 years, was made the presentation of a fountain pen. The president and Messrs. J. M. James and W. F. McLaren referred in eulogistic terms to the services carried out by Mi’. Dunn during his long term.
