PACIFIC AIR SERVICE
INAUGURATION DELAYED LOS ANGELES COMPLAINT. INCLUSION AS PORT OF CALL DESIRED. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright. (Received This Day, 9.35 a.m.) WASHINGTON, March 7. The civil aeronautics authority has reached the decision that the inauguration of the New Zealand air line is to be delayed at least until the public hearing on March 14 of the Los Angeles City’s complaint against the proposed route. Los Angeles wishes the pianos to touch at that city, although the proposed United States terminal is near San Francisco, civic pride and port rivalries are involved. Los Angeles is seeking to revise the official examiner's report, on the approval of which the final authorisation will be given to Pan-American Airways to start the service. The report disapproved of the route passing through Los Angeles, because it was considered that it was unnecessary to maintain terminal facilities in view of the hourly airway connections with San Francisco.
