COAL STRIKE
VOTING IN AUSTRALIAN STATES. NEW SOUTH WALES PREMIER ASKED TO INTERVENE. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright. SYDNEY, March 7. The coalmine workers in the southern and western New South Wales coalfields today recorded an overwhelming majority vote in favour of a general f-lrikc, A report from Queensland states that the miners at Rooval rejected the strike proposal by 599 votes to 76. The Premier of New South Wales, MiMair, is being pressed to bring the parties together for a settlement, Tait he declares that the matter is entirely one for Federal intervention.
