MASTERTON SALE

The Associated Auctioneers report:— We held our weekly sale yesterday when an entry of approximately 6000 sheep came forward. We have to report a very good sale, and prices showed an all round improvement. Good class breeding ewes were in demand, the prices for 2-th. ewes in particular being much better. A nice line offered cn behalf of Mrs Elgar made 30s. Only a few wethers came forward and these made very good values. Store lambs, both ewe and wether, showed an improvement. Fats were on a par with late sales. There was an over supply of rams. Following are the prices:— Two-tooth ewes: A/c Mrs Elgar, 30s; a/c Harvey Bros., 28s; a/c Neil Me Kay and Sons, 27s 7d; a/c Wm. Rayner. 275; others, 20s 6d to 25s 6d. Four and 6-th. ewes: A/c A. W. Dagg. ?.4s 8d; others, 20s to 22s 9d. Fbur-year ewes: A/c John Campbell. 24s 9d; a/c A. Geddes, 24s 3d; others. 21s to 23s Gd. Five-year ewes: 18s to 21s 6d; low condition, 15s to 16s 6d. Six-year ewes: 10s to 13s. Two-tooth wethers: 16s to 17s; 4-th. wethers, 19s 4d. Ewe lambs (woolly), 14s to 18s Gd; shorn do., 12s to 13s 6d; wether lambs (woolly), 12s 4d to 15s lOd; shorn. Ils 6d to 16s; small lambs, 7s 6d to 11s. Fats: Fat wethers, 21s Gd to 235; fat ewes, 14s Gd to 15s; fat lambs, 21s Gd to 245.
