Vatican City is beflagged on the occasion of the Pope's sixty-fourth birthday. Congratulatory messages and gifts poured, in all day. Official celebrations will be combined with celebrations on the first anniversary of the Pope's coronation on March 12. A New York message says that the Pope, through Bishop Bernard Shell, Chicago, thanked the United Jewish Appeal for Refugees for a 125,000-dol-lar donation for Catholic refugees from religious persecution. Bishop Shcil sent a letter to the joint-chairmen. Rabbis Abba Silver and Jonah Wise, saying his Holiness 'was deeply moved.
