LEIPZIG FAIR

BOASTS BY GOEBBELS. GERMAN HOPES OF VICTORY. By Telegraph—Press Association —Copyright. (Received This Day, 11.10 a.m.) BERLIN, March 3. “Not a single German doubts that, the war will be concluded victoriously,” said Dr. Goebbels, opening the Leipzig Fair. "The lack of many important war materials has always ‘forced Germany to tighten up her. economy. The Western Powers have shown hatred and envy of Germany’s efforts towards' self-sufficiency.” He claimed that there were 6,400 exhibiting firms at this year’s fair, compared with 6,411 last year, showing that foreign trade was most active despite the war. Dr Goebbels declared that the blockade had failed and that the scales were slowly but surely turning in Germany’s favour.
