WAIRARAPA CHALLENGE LAPSES. The Wairarapa Lawn Tennis Association's challenge for the Christie Cup is to be allowed to lapse, though Hawke's Bay will probably be called on to defend the cup against Taranaki next Saturday. The Wairarapa team arrived at Napier last Saturday for their challengmatch, but wet weather prevented all. but one match being played. When rain again set in at about 2.30 p.m. the contest was abandoned.
