HASTWELL
WOMEN’S INSTITUTE MONTHLY MEETING. ("Times-Age” Special.) At the last meeting of the Hastwell Women's Institute. Mrs Madsen presided over a fair attendance of members. The meeting opened with the “Ode to Friendship." aspirations and prayer for peace. Nominations for the new committee were received, and also for the executive committee. Mrs JWadsen and Miss O. Halberg were elected delegates to attend the meeting at Woodville next month. Final arrangements were made for the birthday concert and dance to be held tonight. The competitions resulted as follow: —Seniors, seed cake. Mrs A. V. Madsen 1. Mrs Morris 2 and Mrs Thorby 3. Juniors, meringues, Miss O. Halberg 1. Miss K. Larsen 2, Miss P. Thorby 3. Best flower in garden Miss H. Madsen 1. Mrs G. Halberg 2, and Miss I. Madsen 3. The game, which was conducted by Mrs and Misses Madsen resulted in Mrs Morris. Mrs K. Ngatuere and Miss O. Halberg being equal for first place. Afternoon tea was served by the hostesses. and the singing of the National Anthem brought an enjoyable gathering to a close.
