SOUTH FEATHERSTON
HOCKEY CLUB DANCE WEEKLY GATHERING. (“Times-Age” Special.) There was a large attendance at the weekly dance of the Featherston Ladies’ Hockey Club held in the Anzac Hall on Saturday night. The Monte Carlo competition was won by Miss Chappell and Miss Ahipene. Mr C. Buck was M.C., and Mr L. Daysh supplied the music. Miss White contributed three vocal solos which were much appreciated. Bandsman’s Success. Mr K. Schou, who won the side-drum solo at the recent Centennial Brass Band Contest is well known to Featherston residents. When he secured second place in the competition last February he was employed as a hairdresser by Mr W. E. Jeffrey. He thoroughly deserved his success as he is very keen and had been placed three times previously in this contest. He is now a member of the Feilding Band, which performed creditably for a band which had done very little contest work. While in the Wairarapa he was a member of Tom Udy’s Dance ]3and and his brilliant drumming did much towards raising the orchestra to the high position it occupies among dance bands. Personal. Mrs S. C. Rasmussen. Palmerston North, is the guest of Mrs Rasmussen Sent-.. South Featherston.
