ORDER OF DRUIDS
ORDINARY MEETING. There was a good attendance at the ordinary meeting of the Totara Lodge of Druids, held last evening, A.D. Bro. H. Murrell presiding. Prior to commencement of business the A.D. referred to the death of Bro. Herbert Goodin and members stood in silence as a mark of respect to his memory.
Bro. C. E. Blake, of Waitara, was reported to be an inmate of New Plymouth Hospital. He had undergone an operation and was progressing favourably. Accounts: Sick pay, £2B 4s; death benefit, £l2O, and general accounts, £23 16s sd, making a total of £172 0s 5d were passed for payment. Reference was made to the transfer to the railway staff at Taihape of Bro. E. Meyrick and good wishes were extended' to him. He was also granted a letter of recommendation to visit the Druids’ Lodge in the district he has been transferred to.
P.D.P. Bro. A. E. Reid was elected a’ lodge trustee, to fill the vacancy caused by the death of his father. Owing ’.o members being connected with other organisations it was decided that the lodge take no official part in the Centennial celebrations.
