GREYTOWN
LEARN TO SWIM CHILDREN BEING TAUGHT. (“Times-Age" Special.) The Greytown District High School staff, assisted by senior scholars, are this week concentrating on teaching the younger children to swim. Most of the children attending the Greytown School can swim and every effort is being made to increase the number. Invitation to Returned Soldiers. A large party of returned soldiers from Greytown and the district have been invited to visit the Trentham Camp on Sunday as the guests of the Treptham Band. Service Station Entered. During the weekend the service station at the south end of Greytown was broken into. Entrance was gained by breaking a large plate glass window. Apparently the intruders were looking for the keys of the petrol pumps, as nothing appears to have been taken. Personal Items. Mr and Mrs C. W. Brown have been spending a few days in Wellington. Mr F. Dennes is a visitor to Wellington. Mr K. Nix left today to spend a holiday at Picton and the Sounds. Mr and Mrs F.' Best have returned from Auckland. Competition for Dinner Set. The competition for a dinner set conducted by the Greytown Centen.-, nial Committee was drawn last night, the winning number being 252 D’Lamps. On the corresponding number being presented to the Organiser, the prize will be handed over.
