CHILDREN OF MARY ANNUAL MEETING. (“Times-Age" Special.) The St Teresa’s Sodality of Children of Mary held their annual meeting on Sunday night last. The annual report stated: —-“Since the inception four years ago, we are pleased to state that although we have lost several members the membership is holding its own, the present number being 26. It was with regret that we accepted the resignation of our President. May McLeod, who has acted in this capacity since we began.” Father Devlin, Spiritual Director, before conducting the elections, thanked the retiring officers, and also Miss Card for her assistance and interest, and to whom they were greatly indebted. The following are the officers elected for the ensuing year:—President, Ouida McLeod; secretary, Betty Rowles; treasurer, Florence Saba; councillors, Eileen Cole, Mary O’Neale. Gwen Saba. \CROQUET HAUNUI CLUB. In the Haunui Croquet Club’s C grade championship, Mrs White defeated Mrs Davies 26-24. In the B championship for the Haunui Cup (best two out of three games), Miss Viles defeated Mrs White 26-8, 26-11. Gifts for Soldiers. The secretary of the Featherston Sub-branch of the Red Cross Society (Mrs Willett) has received a letter of thanks from the joint council of the. Order of St John and Red Cross Society for the 10 pairs of pyjamas and 12 pairs of socks forwarded last Saturday for- the use of sick and wounded soldiers. Personal Items. Mr and Mrs T. Duffy, Pahautea, are spending a holiday in Lower Hutt. Miss P. Pattee, Dillon’s Point, Blenheim, is spending a holiday with Mrs J. E. Willett. Dance at Pahautea. Owing to the rough weather there was only a fair attendance at the euchre party and dance held in Pahautea Hall. The winners for the euchre were: Ladies, Mrs Flutey, 1, Mrs Juno, 2. Men: Mr Stewart, 1. Mr Enoka, 2.
