. WAIRARAPA BOARD MEETING. APPLICATION FOR GRANT TO CENTENNIAL MEMORIAL. The monthly meeting of the Wnirnrapa Electric Power Board was hold at Carterton this morning. The chairman (Mr C. Campbell Pearce) presided, there also being present: Messrs S. Dalgleish, H. P. Hugo, C. R. Holmes, J. W. Colquhoun, W. H. Booth, M. B. Tait. F. C. Daniell and W. A. Tate. Accounts amounting to £14,797 2s lid were passed for payment. In connection with an application from the Carterton Borough Council, deferred from the last meeting of the board, regarding a contribution to the Carterton Centennial Memorial. it was decided that the application be received, and considered at the same time as the applications received from other boroughs. The Power Boards' Association wrote forwarding the- results of the Conciliation Council's meeting between the Powe)' Boards and the Electrical Workers’ Union. An offer to sell his section adjacent to the Masterton branch office. for £lOOO was received from Mr G. Eaton Masterton. The loiter was received. A letter was received from Mr J. Bouzaid (Masscrion) regarding the supply of materials to contractors. It j was pointed out that the Masterton branch had refused to sell him an element to enable an urgent repair job to be carried out. Members of the board regarded the matter as being one in which a principle was involved. Mr J. W. Colquhoun held that the consumer who required the job to be had been penalised. Mr H. P. Hugo spoke in a similar strain. The secretary-manager, Mr Geo. Brown, pointed out that the position was that there wore only 3 imported elements : n slock, which could not bo replaced. The secretary-manager's action in the matter was endorsed, on a show of hands. Messrs Hugo, Colquhoun and Daniell voted against the motion.
