WOMEN’S INSTITUTE

KAITUNA-FERNRIDGE. MONTHLY MEETING. (“Times-Age” Special.) At the monthly meeting of the Kai-. tuna-Fernridge Institute held in the Kaituna Hall. Mrs Keir, vice-president presided in the absence of the president. An invitation was received to the dance to be held on February 20 under the auspices of the Kopuaranga Women’s Institute to celebrate the fifth birthday of the Institute. A very informative demonstration on tatting was given -by Miss B. Pain and considerable interest was shown by members in Miss Pain’s work. The competitions for the month resulted as follows: —Tall vase of flowers, Mrs Shaw 1. Mrs Pike 2. The best flower, Mrs Pringle 1, Mrs Shaw 2. A competition, decorating a vase of flowers in five minutes, was won by Mrs Keir. The hostesses were Mrs Dagg and Miss P. Welch. Cream puffs will be the subject of competition next month.
