CROQUET MATCH (“Times-Age" Special.) Play in the Button match between the Featherston and Haunui clubs on the Featherston lawns was spoilt by the strong wind which prevailed. The results were as follow: —A grade: Mrs Saunders and Miss Lyford beat Mrs Barry and Miss Esma Card, 26-22. B grade: Mrs Benton and Mrs O'Neale beat Miss Vile and Mrs W. Card. 26-9. Personal Items. Mrs S. Bish and Miss Barbara Bish, Pukekohe. are visiting Mrs C. J. Nix. Tauherenikau. Mr B. Nix returned to his home yesterday from the Grey town Hospital where he underwent an operation for appendicitis. Miss Esther Barry arrived from Dunedin yesterday on a visit to her mother Mrs E. Barry 1 . The guests of Mrs McKenna. Pahautea, include Mr and Mrs Morath, Miss Morath,’Mr Morath, Junr. and Mrs Eccles, all of Wellington. Mr and Mrs Alan Burt, South Featherston have returned home after having spent a holiday in Wellington. Store Broken Into. The premises of Messrs Watson and Co were broken into on Wednesday night access being gained by breaking a glass panel in the front door and turning the lock. So far as is known not much was stolen, but apparently disappointed in not securing money the burglars damaged stock by throwing it about and tearing buttons off garments.
