DAY OF INTERCESSION AT ANGLICAN CHURCH. ("Times-Age” Special.) All Anglican churches in the Diocese of Wellington will hold special services of Intercession for Peace tomorrow. A special appeal is being made for funds to complete the Church of, England hut for the men in training at the Trentham Camp and for generally financing the church’s'ministry to the soldiers. Over £lOOO is required immediately and it is hoped that there will be a generous response for what is almost the greatest responsibility the church has to discharge at the present time. The Bishop of Wellington, the Rt Rev H. St Barbe Holland, will take the services at St Cuthbert’s Church tomorrow. Personal Items. Mr and Mrs H. J. Moynihan, of Pongaroa, are visiting Wellington with their three daughters. Miss Mavis Waterreus, Auckland, is visiting her mother. Mr and Mrs R. Dickson, High Street are visitors to Wellington. Mr and Mrs R. Holford left yesterday on a holiday which is to be spent at Paekakariki. They were accompanied by Mrs Holford’s parents, Mr and Mrs G. Wilson, of Hunterville. Unfavourable Weather. Owing to the unsettled weather that has prevailed for the past fortnight, the various sports bodies in the town have been unable to make a start with their championship competitions. This will probably mean the curtailment to a certain extent of fixtures with outside clubs. The prospects of the weekend being fine are not very bright, for this morning a strong wind is blowing and heavy rain is falling. In the circumstances the Anglican Garden Party today will probably be postponed.
