CHAMPIONSHIP AWARDS

Having decided to devote the whole of the profits to the patriotic fund, the Woodville A. and P. Association deserved much better weather than it experienced for its forty-eighth annual shown today. Steady rain fell from about 9 o’clock in the morning till nearly mid-afternoon, when the skies gradually cleared, and a strong wind sprang up. As a result of the rain not all of the entries in the live stock classes came forward, but in the main exhibitors, in spite of the weather, made a splendid response.

Championships were awarded as follows: — Hack. —Miss K. N. Levin’s Killarney. Pony.—G. Wade's Pet. Ayrshires.—Bull: A. M. Scott’s Greenfield's Enterprise. Cow: A. Hill and Son’s Waipapa Dorcas 4th. Friesians. —Bull: L. S. Gallon’s Mahoe Wolseley. Cow: L. S. Gallon’s Tarata Hope. Jerseys.—Bull: B. R. Robinson’s Kuku Owl’s Finance; reserve. R. C. Leach’s Ypres Peaceful. Cow: J. Murray’s Erinview Princess Pat; reserve. A. R. Wylie's Tararua Golden Sunflower. Milking Shorthorns. —Bull: W. A. Thomas’s Brooklands Gem. Heifer: W. A. Thomas’s Brooklands Favourite.
