LONDON, January 30. Official: The sinkings due to enemy action for the week ending on Sunday is 13 with a total tonnage of 29.101. of which one was British (1523 tons) and two French (totalling 0588 tons) and 10 neutrals (20.990 tons). The number of British allied and neutrals convoyed to January 24. was 7388. of which 15 were lost while under escort. Three other neutral and allied ships, of 13.006 tons, sunk in the three preceding days were not includ-
ed in the previous weeks total. At the beginning of the war 350 German merchantmen were bottled up in neutral ports, equal to 29 per cent of their fleet. The Allies captured dr sunk 29, with a tonnage of 89.000. The Germans scuttled 23 with a tonnage of 139,236. The captured or scuttled is equal to 5 per cent of the licet.
