RIFLE SHOOTING
INTERCLUB SHIELD. WON BY FEATHERSTON. On Saturday afternoon under fine but windy conditions the Featherston Defence Rifle Club were successful in winning the interclub shield from the Masterton-Opaki Club. The match was interesting throughout, the result being in doubt when the last shooter was on the mound. Featherston eventually won by one point. The top score was made by H. King, whose 103 was a very meritorious performance. In handing the shield to Mr N. C. C. Shepherd, president of the Featherston Club. Mr H. H. Mawley congratulated the Featherston team on its win. The Masterton-Opaki Rifle Club members accorded the winners three hearty cheers.
