FORGED NOTES
OVER £lOOO WORTH PASSED IN SYDNEY. HIGHLY ORGANISED EFFORT. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright SYDNEY, January 28. A highly organised effort was made yesterday to Hood Sydney and Melbourne with forged five pound notes. More than £lOOO worth were passed in Sydney hotels and business houses, and at Randwick racecourse. Policemen numbering 1500 scoured the suburbs warning traders and hotelkeepers.
