ADMIRAL BYRD’S SHIPS IN DANGER.

. Admiral Byrd radioed that ice masses breaking over an eight-mile front in the Bay of Whales threatened the ships while unloading. Six of the crew were temporarily trapped on an iceflow. The ships ran for the open sea. The message added that a flight was made over the 1935 base at Little America. The buildings appeared intact.
