NOT CLOSING EARLY

CENTENNIAL EXHIBITION. i STATEMENT BY GENERAL MANAGER. (By Telegraph—Press Asociation.) WELLIGTON. This Day. A definite and emphatic denial of the suggestion that the Exhibition would close before its allotted period of six months, was made today' by the Geneal Manager. Mr C. P. Hainsworth, on behalf of the Exhibition authorities.

“It has been brought to my notice that there is a suggestion in various parts of New Zealand (flat the Exhibition might close toward the end of February,” said ' Mr Hainsworth. “This is by no means the case and intending visitors to the Exhibition can rest assured that it will not close until towards the end of April, as originally planned. ■“A definite closing date has not yet been announced, but that does not means the Exhibition will close months or even weeks, before it has run its full course of six months. It means merely that the actual day of closing has not been decided because, if this decision were made, it would leave no room towards the end of the Exhibition for it to be extended or cut short by a few days to fit in with weather conditions and holiday crowds. Leaving the date undecided the Exhibition authorities have a chance of adjusting the date 'to suit conditions in the last month of the Exhibition.”
