HEAD-ON COLLISION

CYCLIST DIES FROM INJURIES. FATALITY NEAR HASTINGS. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) HASTINGS. January 7. Involved in a head-on collision with a light truck while cycling along the Omahu Road about 9 o’clock last night an elderly Hastings resident died from shock and general injuries soon after being admitted to hospital. He was Mr August Person, aged 81. The accident occurred about two miles past the Hastings Memorial Hospital to which the injured man was immediately taken. The driver of the truck. Mr F. W. Laredo, Hastings, was attempting to pass another vehicle going in the same direction when the accident occurred.
