RANGITUMAU

SCHOOL BREAK-UP (“Times-Age” Special.) There was a large attendance of parents and friends at the annual break-up ceremony and Christmas tree concert held at Rangitumau School. An excellent programme was presented by the children, their performance showing that they had received careful training from their teacher Mrs Connell. Father Christmas (Mr L. Wilton) distributed gifts to the children, and also handed the teacher a crystal sweet stand. After supper the young people enpoyed dancing and a pleasant evening ended with the singing of “Auld Lang Syne.”

An Aberdonian went into a Glasgow post office and asked for a sixpenny postal order. “Trying the football pool?” asked the clerk. "Mind your own business,” was the reply. “Can't I send money to my wife without you interfering?”
