COMING-OF-AGE PARTY

MISS NOELA HOPE HONOURED. On Saturday evening the Y.M.C.A. Hall was the scene of an enjoyable party given by Mr and Mrs W. J. Hope in honour of the coming of age of their daughter Noela. About thirty guests were .present and dancing, games and competitions were enjoyed by all. Excellent music was supplied by Miss J. Hogg. Mrs Hope received her guests, wearing a navy floral frock with a white flower. She was assisted by Miss Hope, who wore a clover shaded georgette evening frock with diamante clip and silver shoes. The beautiful birthday cake held place of honour on the supper table, and during supper, after lighting the candles, Miss Hope’s health was proposed by Mr C. (Mick) Malmo. Her father presented her with a sijver key, inside of which all the guests signed their names. Miss Hope suitably replied, retuning thanks for the many gifts. The health of Mr and Mrs Hope was proposed by Mr K. Welch, and drunk with musical honours. , The gathering was brought to a close by the singing of "Auld Lang Syne."
