TOWNSWOMEN’S GUILD

MASTERTON MEETING. CHILDREN ENTERTAIN. The Masterton Townswomen’s Guild held its final meeting of the year yesterday afternoon in the Y.M.C.A. Hall. A most enjoyable programme was provided by the children of members. Mrs W. H. Judd, who presided, welcomed the children. The members of the Singing Circle rendered two carols, the violin obligato being played by Mrs Jarvis. Afternoon tea was then served and during the rest of the afternoon the children gave much appreciated items. Those who contributed to the programme were: Myrie Heath, recitation; Wendy Torwick. Piano solo and recitation; Margaret Lyttle and Barbara Copp, recitation; Joan Whittaker, dance; Heather Douglas and Joan Douglas, vocal duets; Peter Downes, piano solo; Myrie Minifie, dances; Doreen Dagg, piano solo; Jocelyn Heath, recitation; Margaret Thomson, recitation and song; Heather Robertson, piano solo; and Tony Burke, piano solo. Mrs Judd in thanking the children, presented each with a small gift. The meeting concluded with the singing of the Guild Ode and the National Anthem.
