GREYTOWN

TRUST LANDS TRUST GRANTS TO LOCAL INSTITUTIONS. ("Times-Age" Special.) The monthly meeting of the Greytown Trust Lands Trustees was held last night there being present Messrs H. G. Carter (chairman). F. Dennes, W. H. Day, J. W. Barnard, H. Walden and the secretary (Mr B. Kiernan). The Borough Council wrote asking the Trust to dedicate of their land at the corner of Main and Humphrey Streets, so as to bring the street into line with new fences of the State houses. It would also make the corner safer for traffic. The proposal was agreed to. providing the Trust were not put to expense in the matter. The following grants were passed for payment —Public library, £6O; Fire Brigade, £2O; Plunket Society. £10; Memorial Park, £2O. There will be no meeting of the trustees in January. The next meeting will be held on February 1. RIFLE SHOOTING MEMORIAL SHIELD TEAM. The following will represent Greytown Club in the McLeod Memorial Shield match against Featherston on the Papawai Range on Saturday:—J. C. Feast, H. W. Feast, H. R. Feast, G. Te Whaiti. T. Orr. A. G. Rhodes, G. Rhodes. D. J. Flynn, H. C. Trotman, Ray Ingley. Emergencies:—J. R. Bairstow. P. J. Nicholls. R. Hood and J. M. Jury. Ten shots each will be fired at 500 and 600 yards ranges.
