At the monthly meeting of the Featherston Fire Brigade Superintendent Tidswell presided over a good muster of members. The financial statement as presented was adopted. The U.D.F.B.A. wrote regarding the conference to be held at Upper Hutt at Easter. The annual grant of £1 10s to the U.F.B.A. was passed for payment. A hearty vote of thanks was passed to those vice-presidents and hon. members who had made donations, which are particularly helpful just now, as the Brigade’s funds are very low. Owing to members not being available, it was decided that the Brigade should not send a team to participate in the N.Z. Demonstration next year. Personal. Mr and Mrs H. R. Bloxam are visiting New Plymouth. Flag Day. There is to be a house to house collection on Friday (Flag Day), when a generous response is hoped for in order to provide comforts and Christmas cheer for the soldiers.
