BUILDING SOCIETY

WORKMEN’S FRIEND NO. 2. FINAL MEETING OF YEAR. The monthly meeting of the directors of the. Workmen's Friend No. 2 Building Society was held last evening at. 7.30 p.m., Mr Wm. Kemp (vicechairman) presiding. Also present were Messrs T. B. Braggins, A. V. Dixon, E. J. Brown, C. W. Walker, E. H. Morton and A. E. Hubbard. Apologies for absence were received from Messrs F. J. Hunn and W. H. Jackson. Leave of absence was granted to Mr W. H. Jackson at his request until the ' end of January next. The secretary reported that an appropriation had been paid off and it was resolved that the seal of the Society be affixed to release of mortgage. The transfer of 5 shares was submitted and approved. Two tenders were received for the appropriation of £4OO by sale which realised a satisfactory price. Mr Wm. Kemp referred with much regret to the indisposition of the chairman, Mr F. J. Hunn. The directors expressed their sympathy with Mr Hunn. The secretary was directed to write a letter to Mr Hunn expressing the hope that he would soon be restored to health. The vice-chairman. Mr Wm. Kemp, expressed compliments of the season to all directors and to the secretary. Mr Braggins heartily reciprocated the cordial greetings so kindly expressed. It was decided that the next meeting of directors be held on February 7
