PRE=WEDDING PARTY

MAURICEVILLE GATHERING. MISS M. LARSEN HONOURED. (“Times-Age” Special.) A most enjoyable time xyas spent, in the Memorial Hall, Mauriceville West, on Saturday evening when a large number of friends assembled to do honour to Miss Margaret Larsen in view of her marriage which will take place on Wednesday. Music for the dancing was kindly supplied by Mesdames Clarke, Madsen and Misses Madsen, Mortensen, Messrs I. Larsen. G. Fredricksen, J. Milner, C. Jarrell and N. Myers (piano accordion). Mi’ D. Johansen made an efficient M.C. Heartily applauded was a vocal item rendered by Mr F. Sigvertsen. The guest of the evening was attired in a pretty frock of pink embroidered organdie, and Mrs A. Larsen wore a black floral frock. At a suitable interval Mr A. Forsberg. on behalf of the residents of the district, asked Miss Larsen and Mr A. Smart to accept the gifts brought to the party together with the best wishes of all those present. He also spoke in glowing terms of the splendid services rendered by Miss Larsen in connection with various institutions in the district and regretted her departure. Mr A. Smart, on behalf of Miss Larsen and himself, returned thanks for the beautiful gifts. As they would make their home in the Pahiatua district, he hoped that their many friends would be able to call on them, and he could assure them that there would always be a warm welcome awaiting. A very happy gathering was brought to a close by the singing of Auld Lang Syne. A Monte Carlo waltz was- won by Mr and Mrs C. Jarrett.
