WEDDING

BARRETT—GREEN. (“Times-Age” Special.) A pretty wedding took place in St Andrew's Presbyterian Church. Carterton, on Saturday evening, the contracting parties being Patricia Mary, daughter of Mr and Mrs S. Green, of Belvedere Street. Carterton, and Richard Stanley, son of Mr and Mrs R. Barrett, Island Bay. Wellington. The ceremony was performed by the Rqv W. J. Couling. The bride, who was escorted by her father, was met at the door and piped into the church by Piper J. Mansell. She looked charming? in a white silk taffeta gown cut on slim lines with train effect and heart-shaped neckline. Her beautiful silk tulle veil was attached by a coronet of pearls (lent by Mrs J. Brown. Wellington), and she carried a sheaf of aurum lillies and asparagas fern. She wore a string of pearls, a gift from her greataunt. Mrs Andrews, of Chicago. U.S.A. The bridesmaids were the bride’s two sisters, Miss Thelma Green (chief) and Madge Green, each attired in gold sill: taffeta frocks, featured with a rucked bodice, cut on slim lines, with silver shoes to tone. They wore gold tulle veils with rose buds and silver trimming. They carried bouquets of sweet peas and asparagus fern. The duties of best man were carried cut by Mr S. Collie and the groomsman was Mr Stan Green, June. The church was nicely decorated with aurum lillies and poppies. On leaving the church the bride was presented with a silver horseshoe by little Beverly Green, niece of the. bride. An adjournment was made to the residence of the bride's parents where a reception was held. The guests were received by the bride's mother who was attired in a navy blue ensemble and carried a bouquet of cream roses. She was assisted by the bridegroom's mother who wore a green ensemble and carried a bouquet of sweet peas. The usual toasts were enthusiastically honoured. Mr and Mrs R. S. Barrett, left for Wellington where the honeymoon will be spent. On their return they will take up their residence at Norfolk Road, Masterton.
