GATHERING AT TE WHIT!
PARCEL PARTY. TENDERED TO POPULAR COUPLE. (“Times-Age” Special.) There was a very large attendance at the Te Whiti Hall on Saturday evening, the occasion being a parcel evening to two popular young people, who will be married at St Matthew's Anglican Church on Tuesday, Miss Betty Welch and Mr Tom Henderson. Dancing was indulged in during the evening to excellent music provided by Messrs Mitchell and Robertson, a first-class extra being nicely played by Miss Edith Cave. The M.C. was Mr Len Pike, who kept the evening going merrily, there being not a dull moment. At an appropriate interval Mr L. Pike asked lhe young couple to, accept a large number of parcels. The prospective bride opened the parcels after which Mr Henderson, on behalf of Miss Welch and himself, thanked everyone for the beautiful gifts and for the social tendered in their honour. Visitors were present from all parts of the district, including several from Carterton.
