Though there was threatening weather in Wellington early on Saturday morning, the conditions at Otaki were very warm and bright; in fact in the early afternoon it was too hot for the comfort of patrons of the summer meeting of the Otaki Maori Racing Club. Later, conditions were cooler, and more pleasant. The track, as the result of rain during the week, was in perfect order, and provided first-class going for the horses. The totalisator handled £20,330 (win £9797 10s, place £10,532 10s), an increase of £2351 10s on last year, when betting was single pool. Results: — Puketoi Hack Hurdles, 11m.: 1/3. Dorado, 10.12 (W.
