MAHUNGA GOLF CLUB
IMPROVEMENTS TO LINKS AND BUILDINGS. NINTH ANNUAL REPORT. I "We are pleased to report a small credit balance in the accounts at the close of the season,” states the ninth annual report of the Mahunga Golf Club. "During the season further improvements have been carried out to the greens, tees and fairways. New tees have been laid down and these should be ready for use in the coming season. The use of the tractor, which has recently been purchased, in conjunction with the gang mowers, should prove a distinct advantage in keeping the fairways in improved condition. The club house has been enlarged and this has proved a veritable boon owing to the increased membership. A septic tank has been constructed with a view to providing drainage facilities at the club house, and the coming committee will no doubt favourably consider completing the very necessary work before the new season opens. A new implement shed has also been provided to house the club’s implements. All these improvements have been carried out at a minimum of expense to the club. The .waiving of an entrance fee resulted in acquiring quite an increase in membership, but there are still vacancies, and members are urged to induce others to take up the game. "The following nominations have been received for the general committee, and as seven members only are required a ballot will be necessary:— I. I. McGregor, G. T. Wagg, A. H. Ward, G. R. Ward. D.
