! ROSES AND SWEET PEAS I SHOW AT martinborough. ' — i 1 A SPLENDID DISPLAY. j (“Times-Age” Special.) • The seventh annual Rose and Sweet Pea Show held under the auspices of the Girl Guides' and Boy Scout Committees was held in the Parish Hall. Martinborough, yesterday afternoon with a good attendance of the public. The mild weather conditions of the past week had been favourable to the garden, and the exhibits were more than at previous shows and were of a high standard. The roses and sweet peas were specially good, and brought forth commendation of the judges, as also the decorative class. Mrs Arch Clark, of Featherston, was the outstanding exhibitor, and carried off the champion rose and that for the best red rose in the show. The following were the awards:— ROSES. Twelve distinct varieties—Mrs Arch Clark 1. Mrs W. J. Martin 2. Six distinct—Mrs Arch Clark 1, Mrs J. Smith 2. and Mrs W. J. Martin h.c. Three distinct—Mrs Arch Clark 1, Mrs W. B. Martin 2; Mrs W. J. Martin h.c. Red—Mrs Arch Clark 1, Mrs W. B. Martin, 2 and h.c. White—Mrs Arch Clark 1. Mrs M. 1 ■ McLeod 2. Mrs Pain, h.c. | Pink—Mrs A. Clark 1. Mrs D. McLeod 2. Mrs Pain h.c. Yellow—Mrs W. J.
