EKETAHUNA

DEATH OF RETURNED SOLDIER (“Times-Age” Special.) The death took place at Parkville on Friday of Lieut. Henry Youle, M.M., N.Z.R.8.. E.L.0., N.Z.E.F., aged 52 years. Deceased, who took part in the Great War. was twice married and a widow and a grown-up family are left. The two daughters are Mrs W. Christian (Wellington) and Mrs F. Vann (Napier), and the son. Mr R. W. Youle, of Cheltenham (Feilding). Three brothers also survive him, these being Messrs T. J. (Feilding), F. (Ahiaruhe), and C. C. Youle (Ashhurst). Interment took place at the Pahiatua Cemetery on Sunday, there being a large cortege to mark the esteem in which deceased was held. The pallbearers were members of the Masterton branch of the firm by which deceased was employed and the service at the graveside was conducted by the Rev. L. Ives, vicar of Eketahuna. The coffin was draped with the Union Jack and the "Last Post” was sounded by Mr R. F. Cooper, of Newman. The very large number of beautiful floral tributes included those from the Loan and Mercantile Agency Co.. Ltd.. Masterton, and one from the head office of the firm. Messrs Dalgety and Co.. Ltd.. W.F.C.A.. Ltd., and the Eketahuna Club. Personal. Mr C. Harding, who formerly resided in Eketahuna. is visiting friends in the district.
