FAT LAMBS

MEW BOARD COMPETITION JUDGING AT WAINCAWA TODAY, AWARDS IN THE PENS. Judging of the lambs entered in the New Zealand Meat Producers' Board district fat lamb competition is taking place today at'the Waingawa Freezing Works, before an interested gallery of spectators. The lambs are reported to be of excellent quality.

Twenty-three pens out of the 30 entered came forward. This morning, Mr G. M. Moffitt, fat stock buyer, judged the pens, the results being:— Sir William Perry (Masterton), 1. McKenzie Est. (Pigeon Bush). 2. McKenzie Est.. 3. S. Campbell (Clareville), 4. G. H. Perry (Upper Plain). 5.

This afternoon the lambs are being judged on the hooks by Mi' J. Drysdale. Meat Board Inspector.

On account of the war, a selection of the lambs is not being forwarded to London this year for the Island competition conducted at Smithfield.
