OBITUARY
MR ORENGARD H. BEETHAM. The death occurred at the Morland homestead at 10.30 o’clock last night of Mr Orengard Horsley Beetham, son of the late Mr Hugh H. Beetham and Mrs Beetham, at the age of 53 years. Deceased, who was born at Brancepeth. was held in very high esteem by a wide circle of friends, who will hear of his death with feelings of deep regret. The late Mr Beetham had been successfully engaged in sheep farming for a long period of years. He served in the Great War being an N.C.O. in the New Zealand Field Artillery. He leaves a widow, a son (aged 17 years) and a daughter (14 years), to whom deep sympathy will be extended in their bereavement. The late Mr Beetham, who was badly gassed in the Great War, had been ill for some time. The funeral of the late Mr Beetham will reach the Masterton Cemetery via the Post Office at 2.30 p.m. on Friday, arriving at Faulknor’s corner about 2.15 p.m. A service will be held at the Morland Homestead at 1.15 p.m. on Friday. Members of the Wairarapa Returned Soldiers’ Association are requested to assemble at the gates of the Masterton Cemetery at 2.30 p.m. tomorrow to attend the funeral of the late Mr Beetham.
