GARDEN COMPETITION
FIRST JUDGING NEXT WEEK. Arrangements for the judging of the garden competition being held by the Masterton Horticultural Society were made at a meeting of the management committee held last night. It was decided that the first judging should take place between November 7 and 9 and the second judging in February. Altogether 17 entries were received, 13 in the J-acre class and four in the j|-acre section. Members expressed their disappointment that more entries were not forthcoming, but decided to carry on with the competition this year in order to keep faith with those who had entered. It was considered, however, that unless better support was received, the society would have no option but to discontinue the tionArrangements were also made for the Spring Show, which is to be held on November 22. ____
