INTER-HOUSE SPORTS
TEN GIRLS’ TEAMS ENTERED. COMBINED DRILL & SPORTS CONTESTS. When entries closed last night for girls teams in the Inter-House com-petitions-to be held on Saturday, November 25, 10 teams had notified their intention to compete. These represent the following business houses: McKenzie's, Woolworth’s, W.F.C.A., Hosiery Mills, Stock and Station Agents, Cody's, Associated Garages, Hugo and Shearers, Leecroft Chambers, State Kitchenette. These entries were received and further arrangements were made in connection with the competitions at a meeting of the committee of the Inter-House Association held last night. A number of offers of donations of trophies or prize-money were received and detailed arrangements were made for. the sports. Officials for the athletic section of the programme were appointed as follow: Judges: Messrs G. W. Sellar, V. Joseph, E. M. Hodder; time-keeper, Mr L. S. Nicol; starter, Mr W. Dickson; assistant-starter, Mr J. Bruce; marshal, Sergeant-Major C. E. Rogers; tug-of-war judge, Mr G. C. L. Dickel; announcer, Mr W. Grantham; record steward, Mr J. Dickson; stewards, Messrs R. Whyborn, D. Reilly, D. Bell, R. Foster, G. Ruston; protest committee, Messrs G. Daubney, J. W. Hayden. A rehearsal of all girls’ teams is to be held at Masterton Park on Monday, November 20, when Sergeant-Major C. E. Rogers will give combined instruction in the parade arrangements. At the dance to be held at night after the sports in the Municipal Hall, all girls in their team uniforms will be admitted free and trophies will be presented by Mrs L. B. Maunsell, wife of the president of the association.
