WOMEN TEACHERS

MEETING AT MASTERTON. A party of women teachers from the Eketahuna branch attended a social evening held by the Masterton branch. After an amusing book-title competition, won by Mrs Fouhy, a travel talk of much interest was given by Mrs Wright. Fiji, Samoa. Honolulu, America and ocean travel were described. Later in the evening, Miss Wiggins, president of the Masterton branch, made eulogistic reference to the work of Miss L. Edwards, at present at Newman, and who will be retiring early next year. Miss Edwards had been a valued member of the Masterton branch for some years, and had often attended since she had joined the Eketahuna branch, of which she was secretary.

A dainty supper, provided by the honorary members, was enjoyed, while the guests examined post-card mementos of Mrs Wright's trip.
