STILL HALE AND HEARTY
90th BIRTHDAY CELEBRATED. MRS H. M. RUSSELL, OF MASTERTON. Still another old resident of Masterton has reached the age of 90 years— Mrs H. M. Russell, of 182 Chapel Street, who celebrated her birthday on Wednesday last. Mrs Russell is still hale and hearty. She does most of her own work, washing, cooking, etc., and lives alone. Except for a slight defect in her eyesight and hearing she enjoys good health. A large number of relatives and friends gathered to spend the afternoon and evening with her on the occasion of her birthday, when many telegrams from all parts of New Zealand. as well as birthday gifts were received, including one from the staff of the W.F.C.A. accompanied by a note stating that Mrs Russell had been one of the most loyal shareholdercustomers since the late Mr M. Caselberg established the business. Mr A. Russell on behalf of his mother, returned thanks to those present, to Miss Grace Russell who made and decorated the birthday cake and to Mrs Chas. Braggins for her help in making the function such a sticcess.
