FEATHERSTON

WRESTLING CLUB SUCCESSFUL DANCE. ("Times-Age” Special.) There was a large attendance at the 1 annual dance of the Featherston - Wrestling Club held in the Anzac - Hall. A most enjoyable time was - spent by those present. The gather- I ing was a decided success. Udy’s Orchestra supplied the music, supper ( extras being played by Mrs Daysh, Miss Matthews, Mr Daysh and Mr ■ Dunn. Mr C. Buck was M.C. The winners of novelty dances were: Monte Carlo, Mr McGillicuddy and Miss Railey, Mr Doyle and Mrs Sinclair; lucky spot, Mr Johnston and Miss Matthews. A tap dance was given by Miss Ramsden. The tables- were decorated by the Misses Tutbury. The supper arrangements were in the hands of a capable committee of ladies. BOY SCOUTS CAMP AT RATA GULLY. . The Scout Troop held a successful camp at Rata Gully over the weekend. As the district Scoutmaster, Mr Halpin, paid official visits to three other camps he was unable to act as Scouter, so each patrol ran the camp on its own. Red Cross Society. A Tutor Sister from the Masterton Hospital is to give the first lecture in home nursing tonight in the Odd Fellows Hall.' Personal Items. Mr and Mrs O’Sullivan, Hamilton, and Mrs O’Neill, Wellington, who have been on a motor tour, are the guests of Mrs R. Ness, Pahautea, for a few days. Mr and Mrs Ward, Napier, and Miss Lynskey, New Plymouth, have returned home from visiting Mrs Charles, Hayward Street. Mr W. Cuff has found it necessary to again enter the Masterton Hospital for treatment. Good Catch of Crayfish. A party of fishermen from Tauherenikau had a very successful weekend cray-fishing at the coast, catching about 300. The sale from the catch proved quite profitable. A Bicycle Built for Two. A bicycle built for two —a novelty in the form of an old-fashioned tandem bicycle—was recently purchased by two enterprising Featherston girls. Their appearance on the roads has caused quite a sensation.
