A terrific explosion shook the National Powder Company's plant at Eldred, 15 miles from Bardford (Pennsylvania) today, shaking houses. It is reported that five persons were killed. The explosion is reported to have occurred in the gelatine section at 7.30 a.m., while the majority of the employees were on their way to work. The entire plant, which is small, was destroyed. There is no indication so far of sabotage.
