AMATEUR ATHLETICS

WAIRARAPA SUB-CENTRE ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meeting of the Wairarapa Sub-Centre of the New Zealand Amateur Athletic Association was held in the Y.M.C.A. Hall last night. Mr J. Nyhan (Mauriceville) presided over a small attendance of delegates. A motion of sympathy was passed with the relatives of the late Mr D. A. Pickering, for many years president of the Sub-Centre. The report and the balance sheet (set out by an investigation committee). were adopted after considerable discussion. Several minor remits to the New , Zealand Association were approved. The election of officers for the ensuing year resulted: —Patron, Mr W. A. Todd; president. Mr J. Nyhan; vicepresidents. all presidents of affiliated clubs: referees. Messrs Williams. W. Grantham, I. R. Payne, Hall, Grantham. J. Nyhan and A. Morgan: handicappers, Messrs J. Nyhan. A. Williams and A. Morgan; Delegates to the New Zealand A.A.A., Messrs W. G. Watterson. B. Sutherland and W. M. Sellar; honorary secretary-treasurer. Mr W. M. Sellar; hon auditor. Mr R. Gully.
