“RUSSIA WITH US”
HESS ADDRESSES GERMAN MOTHERS CONSOLATION FOR SACRIFICES. AWAKENING FORETOLD FOR BRITAIN. By Telegraph—Press Association —Copyright. (Received This Day, 10.30 a.m.) LONDON, October 1. Herr Rudolf Hess, broadcasting from Hamburg, addressed a message of consolation to “all mothers in Germany.” He said the number of killed, wounded and missing was small compared with the successes for it over the million strong army of Polish soldiers that England sent to invade Germany. “Never in the world’s history has such a success been achieved with so little loss,” Herr Herr declared. “We are proud of you mothers because in this first campaign of National Socialism you proved yourselves worthy of your husbands and brothers. Crosses of honour are being distributed today to mothers, and in giving them we thank all German women who have served their people. We thank most those who gave children to Germany, because they created the foundation of greatness of the new Reich. After calling on mothers for renewed fortitude and sacrifice, Herr Hess said: “Britain will never achieve her aim of destroying the German people by starving women and children. Britain is face to face with National Socialist Germany. Perhaps she is unaware ,of the possibilities of our utilising Rusia’s mineral resources. There are many things Britain hitherto has not believed. She did not believe National Socialism would make Germany rise again, that it would abolish unemployment, or that it would rearm Germany, but today she does. One day, provided she does not make peace beforehand, Britain will believe it is impossible to starve us, especially as Russia is with us.”
